Isn't it sad that the statement "without batteries" has to be stated.

It is pretty sad that it has to state that but that's how things are now. The future is now.

LOK COM 131 PTA Program

Technology is making us lazy. For example, calculators. Back in the day my family did not have calculators they had everything memorized. Now, students don't even know how to add without using their fingers or a calculator. We are so used to technology doing everything for us. Forbid there ever be a blackout and left without electricity. Sorry but there's no app for that.

nice satire on how we are addicted to technology.

however, this technology is great! your can load thousands of books on one reader, which you would never be able to carry

If books came with batteries, we would be even lazier than we already are. I kind of like that idea, which makes me extremely lazy.

It's funny how the man has a puzzled look on his face, but in reality our future generations might be doing the same some day. With the advances in technology, many books are being converted into electronic books. This can be both positive and negative. The downfall is that if the power goes out then our Ipads, e-reader, and laptops could not charge or power to provide us with these books. On the other hand, electronic books have provided much more accessibility to a wider range of people. No need to carry that heavy backpack when your slim Nook, Ipad or phone carries all the books you need and more.
