Got Your Six Hollywood Opening Ceremony and Launch of Industry Efforts to Help Military, former Military and Their Families

Got Your 6 is a campaign that unites the entertainment industry with top non-profit organizations to change the conversation in America so that veterans and military families are viewed as leaders and assets that will reinvigorate our communities and our nation.

A single campaign with a single mission focused on veterans and their families, putting aside the competitiveness of the industry to honor and support our hero's.

The mission: Taking care of our troops.

The "Got Your 6" campaign is supported by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Biden, the United States Armed Services and the Department of Veterans Affairs in a public-private partnership to raise funds and increase services for vets and their families.

Volunteers will help in all areas of a veterans life, in skills and in networking, in health care and in child care, in employment and in just saying "thank you."

Hiring a veteran means hiring a leader. Helping their families means helping our nation. Meaningful employment and support sources are needed and vital to the future of the country.  There will be opportunities for action, education learn about the military and their role.

Every major studio, network, association, and Guild has united on "Got Your 6."

Clinton Global Initiative has recruited a lead partner for each element of the campaign. This is a specific goal, professional program to help and and promote our military, our veterans and our families.

The US Chamber of Commerce will take the lead on employment and jobs, working with local chambers, charities, the government, state agencies and volunteers on the "hiring out hero's campaign" to hire 500,000 military and spouses by December of 2014.

The Hundred Thousand Homes Campaign and Community Solutions is leading the commitment of the Housing Pillar. Ten thousand chronically homeless vets will be hosed by July 2014.

The Mission Continues is taking  on leadership. One point five million hours of volunteer service by veterans by July of 2013, engaging others to volunteer to assist veterans.

Given Hours will educate 100,000 students and graduate students on mental health issues.

Student Veterans of America and the Pat Tillman Foundation will take the lead on Education. Pledges from 500 major colleges and universities to offer supportive veteran specific services resources and policies and raise funds to deliver those services.

Blue Star Families will provide reintegration tools and training to 300,000 military families and over 100,000 primary and secondary educators by December, 2014.

Goodwill Industries International is a national sponsor on all efforts. National Virtual Job Career Fairs coordinated with on the ground career fairs will be held frequently. Goodwill and the Walmart Foundation will launch support services for all of the pillars of integration.
