Happy 448th Birthday William Shakespeare Party on April 23rd!

Dear Friends of Shakespeare:

A week from Monday, April 23rd, is William Shakespeare’s 448th birthday. We at the Las Vegas Shakespeare Company are going to throw a very special birthday celebration for the Bard. We will open our theatre at 12:01am Monday morning and keep a marathon of staged readings of the great plays going all day long for 24hours, until midnight Monday night.

We would like to invite your organization to participate by sending a team of readers to do one play. A minimum of ten people is required to form a team under your company name. We can take as many as you'd like to send over. They can pick the play they’d like to read or draw one from a hat. They can pick the parts they’d like to read, or draw them from a hat. Two hats, actually a blue one and a pink one.

This is intended to be FUN - NOT SERIOUS. We don't expect great acting. Music, food, movies, and workshops will fill out the event all day and all night. People are invited to stay as long or as briefly as they care to. THERE IS NO CHARGE.

CHOICE OF PLAYS IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE so let us know ASAP if you'd like to do this. April 20th is the absolute deadline but don't wait that long...
The media will be notified and we expect some press coverage.

The event takes place at:
Las Vegas Shakespeare Theatre
(housed in the Reed Whipple Center)
821 Las Vegas Blvd North
Las Vegas NV 89101.

I am a huge fan of shakespeare and will more than likely attend. has anyone ever seen the movie anonymous? really makes you thinks. there were some questions raised in the movie that could suggest shakespeares work was not his own the world may never know.
