Dont just promote what you love. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

It's this simple change in the way we think that will make the world a better place. Think of the cup half full rather than half empty.

With all the negativity that surrounds us this slogan is a reminder to focus on the positive and a little less on the down side of our existence.
I read this somewhere the other week and to this day i have not stopped thinking about it. i am embarrassed to say, i am one of those people who tend to really bash those i don't like- whine about things that bug me- and nag about stuff i hate. after reading this something clicked. the whole world would be a happier place if people could get this down- showing people appreciation, commending people for ANYTHING, and showing love all create such a positive atmosphere it would be unbelievable!!
Thats a really good message. I can see how focusing on love instead of hate can be better for yourself and everyone invloved. We shouldnt waste our energy on hate.

While this is an excellent message, it can be a tough one to follow. Usually when I find myself judging or hating something or someone, it's because it hits close to home. There is usually something within myself that I don't like and I am projecting that onto others. There is an old saying in AA that when you point your finger at someone, you have three more pointed back at yourself.

Good thing I dont hate anything enough to waste my time on bashing it. As we've all heard this before, "Hate, is a very strong word."

Wow! @ John! That is so true!
To me, this is a good message. I think if we spent more time embracing what we love and trying to change ourselves and the world to a more positive outlook, we would have less hatred, crime and anger in this world. Its easier just to conform and cry and hate things and its harder to embrace things for what they are and change, but I think once we try to change for the better, our world would be a better place.

This makes me think of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror". this piece of advice can be used in every context, personally, the work environment, politics, religion... Positivity breeds positivity and everything comes back three fold. the bad karma from bashing what you hate could kill you. The power of intention, especially positive intention is so great!

If we all did this, the world would be a better place.
