Have we sunk this low?

littlegreenfootballs.comI don't even know what to say about this any more. There's a real sickness running rampant in the right wing; the Fox News comment thread on Whitney Houston's death is yet another disgusting deluge of outright racism: Singer Whitney ...

It's good to see that they removed the comments, but

are you kidding me. What gives anyone the right to be this blatantly discriminatory and judgmental towards anyone!

Did your god, deity, symbolic representation of something higher, or lack thereof divine to you that you are able to judge anyone, that by being you you're automatically better than them, and give you that exclusive right over them.

I respect a lot of things and peoples rights to them, but down right bigotry I cannot. I encourage free speech and thought, but hate or discrimination is destructive, no matter what you say.

If you have valid logical constructive reasons as to why you are allowed to judge a person and how you are better than them, please explain. I'm not talking about criminals here, we have a separate judicial system that takes care of that. Like the system or hate it along with the decisions that come from it, I can respect constructive judgments /reservations about. How you as a human being is somehow automatically better than another human being outright I cannot.

Wow... Just wow. I could only read down through a few comments left on that thread before I had to stop. It's amazing to think that in this great country there agree still so many biased, childish, prejudice-filled people. This is what causes social problems in our society and leads to ignorance and hate. It's things like this that perpetuate the cycle of hostility in America... It's sickening and saddening.

Fox News seems to be always giving a bad opinion about something.

Really? Is this what people waste their time doing, writting racist comments about someone who has past away?! It's so mind boggling how people could be so cold hearted and ignorant. Whitney Houstan was a remarkable singer and yes she did have many problems in her life but this had nothing to do with her skin color. My goodness how I have lost my faith in humanity.

It is a tragedy that another great iconic singer has passed. Its tragic for the family, friends, and longtime fans of Whitney Houston, but there is a picture floating around the internets saying, "Whitney who? Since when did celebs get more credit than real heros." and in the picture is a row of caskets with american flags on them of fallen soldiers. Kind of makes you think...

Wow, Im amazed with how low some people can be in society. You would think with the way the times have changed people wouldnt talk like that. Even Whitney had her problems, just like anyone, she was an amazing performer that helped inspire other female artists to come about. A lost human life is that, it doesnt matter race, enthic background, sexual orientation etc. People need to stop being so mean and realize that the things they say are hurtful and bad. She still has surviving family that will have to read this type of hatred. Wow, in 2012 people still act like that? How sad.

Some people are racist, even through they will no admit it. Houston was a major contributor to charities, to the advancement of music and the entertainment of billions (she is a world wide icon). The caskets of soldiers image misses the point and mixes apples with oranges. Also, she is another poster for why people should not get into drugs and why they should also be very careful with prescription drugs. Tragedy in many ways...the publicity was due to the Grammy's being the next night.

It is a tragedy for Whitney and her family. Its disgusting that we are in the year 2012 and their is still so much racism and hatred in this world. What ever happened to being kind and respectful and if you had nothing nice to say dont say it all.
