At least now I know how to do my powerpoint for my next speech. This probably also expains why I cannot focus a lot in some of my classes.... Because ALL we do is copy notes from powerpoint...

Passion!! i think this is one of the most important things in a presentation!! how do u expect someone to even slightly care about what your talking about if you yourself arnt passionate about it!?
Oh, and i find it quite funny that they made a slideshow on slideshows! :D lol

Power point presentations are over used and the short film on it puts that into perspective. I like to see more images on power points to get the point across for certain subjects.

Fun video. I like how it relates to what I just read in the book. I also liked all the humor in it. Like the "* estimates" and the overexagerations.. They're "DIEING" from Power Point.

Unless I absouletly have to, I don't think I'll use any electronic visual aids for this class. They seem kind of impersonal to me. And they can definitely be boring sometimes.

Other than the statistics it gives you this is a 100% true from my personal experience. Most of the time people try to present an idea without flair and thats simply, because they're forced to and not want to. For example in school as what Nicole said all you do in school is look at a power point and copy notes, why even use a power point. All coping teaches you is how to write faster, before the slide changes.

I think that powerpoints are a good way to relay information but I dislike seeing them when someone just reads word for word off the screen and doesnt put passion into what they are talking about. In that case, I could just sit there and read it faster and not even need the 'presentation'. I like powerpoint, but if i can get my idea across in a different way, I will use that instead of Powerpoint.

A good power point is a great way to relay information. It's not as boring as black and white text but it is still formal. Unfortunately there are many more boring or confusing power points then enjoyable or informational ones. I know I'm not perfect at power point but I'd like to think I'm decent, but if I wasn't I will be now because I'm saving this link to my study guide folder.

I loved this video, because it shows what majority of the public lack in their presentations! I can't stand watching a boring, useless, powerpoint. Get rid of information thats not needed, it consumes the whole powerpoint!

Powerpoints are a crutch, or at least they are to me. I have seen several people in class use Posterboards and I cann't imagine pulling that off, it's an almost impossible feat. Hat's off to those of you who can do without powerpoint, myself- I don't know that I could. I do like how the 7 lines/7words deal is tossed out though, makes it easier to organize our info.
