"We must not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around us in awareness."

(James Thurber, 1894 – 1961)

I feel like this quote is just saying how we need to take in this very moment rather than waste it by thinking about yesterday or worrying about tomorrow.

I like the quote. It has a good message. Looking back in anger or forward in fear will just hurt you. I hear alot of people preaching to "live in the present" and it seems like a pretty good concept to me. Noone knows the future and you cant change the past. The present is where its at. I like the use of the word awareness to. So it seems to be advising to live in the present and pay attention to whats happening.

this all comes down to the adage live life like to days is your last
and it stems from the belief that your not promised tomorrow but if you ask anyone, change is scary and just the thought of tomorrow is anticipating change. the real question is how do you face change do you run and hide or do you run at it head first
