Kim Russell as Sojourner Truth

Sojourner Truth stood in front of the Wingfield Park Amphitheater and, with a thick Dutch accent, captivated the crowd of about 100 with anecdotes about her life, such as when she met U.S. President Abraham Lincoln.
For about 30 minutes, Truth spoke boldly and passionately about her life.
She was being portrayed by Chautauqua performer Kim Russell, a member of the Nevada Humanities Committee. Russell's representation was one of the highlights of the 23rd annual Juneteenth celebration Sunday afternoon in downtown Reno.
My friend Kim Russell has done massive research and put her considerable performance talent toward her performances for over two decades. She is a strong supporter of actors and talent, children and the arts in Nevada.
