Is Microsoft calling it quits on the Zune?

Microsoft reportedly is pulling the plug on new versions of Zune, the portable media player that the company hoped would become a strong rival to Apple's iPod. According to published reports, Microsoft will instead focus on getting Zune software onto smartphones, particularly those that run the company's Windows operating system.
