I've always agreed w/ cutting back on politicians salaries, freebies & who knows what else they make with perks & kickbacks, etc. Seriously, they would probably start to get things done to cause real change and work harder to find solutions.

That's so true, people need to put themselves in other people's shoes. The politicians should think about what it would be like to get paid minimum wage...it's not fun.

This would be a great thing for all of us. Now politicians would know what it feels like to work hard for every dollar. By doing so, they will finally start to improve our economy and put the United States back to the top.

I hope some politicians see this. You know they would bust their butts to make it good.

Term Limits. Power is always the culprit. Do you really think everyone should make the same amount even though they don't work as hard, sacrifice leisure activities, go to college, plan for the future, save their money etc. Get real people. Money is the what you trade for your efforts, if you have more (value) to trade you have more money. If I give you 1 chicken, I receive 1 dollar. Do the math.

Is any politician truly in politics to change things? I do not believe so.

If there was only a way for this to actually happen so they could see what it is really like living off of minimum wage. Yes, politicians deserve to make way more than minimum wage because they did work very hard to get where they are at, they paid for college, etc. But I don’t think politicians realize how hard it is live off of such a low wage and survive. I also think a lot more things would get done if they did realize how bad things are.

I think politicans should be put in the shoes of lower class people and see how they react. Then they would have a better perspective of what American people have to go through.

Walk a mile in someone else's shoes and then you'll have a change of attitude. I believe this should be mandatory. That everyone of our politicians should have to live 1 month on minumum wage, or in the "working class" and really take a good look how the decisions that they make affect the average Americans life.

True that. Too bad actions speak louder than words, and this isn't likely to happen. I think the distribution of money in this country is all corrupted. For example, teachers don't get paid the money they deserve. Teaching is a job, not a charity. And it's important. Kids are the next generation of society. We need them to turn into educated adults. But schools are losing their funding and teachers are losing their jobs and its not right in my opinion. I hear that more than half of our nations money belongs to the top 1% of people. Theres no equilibrium there.

99%, which is far far more than half of out wealth is in the hands of the 1%. Not long ago it was top ten and before that top twenty...but now fewer than one in 10 control out wealth and our society.
