If you are always waiting for the strom to pass, life will pass you by as well. And you will never learn how to cope with problems and real life.

Life consists of pursuing, not waiting. If you wait for things then you won't get anywhere in life. You have to work with what you have and go out and get what you want. It won't get handed to you. The world doesn't stop for nobody. That is what this quote is saying.

This is a great quote. Dont sit around and do nothing if things got you down. Step up to the plate and swing away!

This is a great quote. Life is definetly not for the timid. Some people are content to sit on the sidelines and put their time in without ever taking a risk. If you never fall down you will never learn to stand tall. The effect of the great recession on my business has driven this point home hard. It would have been easy to quit, too easy as a matter fo fact. But had I quit, then what? It was hard, but if it were easy everyone would do it. It just makes all the rewards that come down the road even sweeter.

My mom would always tell me, "You can't expect for things to happen on their own, you need to make it happen!" Simply stating, stop being a lazy bum and waiting for things to come your way and do it yourself! Its true, to expect things to come so easily will give anyone the challenge they need in life. I say take the challenge full on and whether win or lose, you'll know where you stand and can either go forward, work harder, or sit back and continue to take the easy route of waiting for nothing.

Very true, always live in the moment or you just might miss something important.

Whenever a problem occurs in my life I usually try to find the best solution to the problem, because if there is one thing that my parents have taught me about problems is that, sure you could wait and hope that nothing happens. Or you could do something about it and actually have the correct outcome, I know several times in my life I have been in a several "storms" but I always do my best to make things work out and to not have them impact me a lot.

I just had this saying made into wall art for my house.... funny. We have to make as much out of life as we can..... If we just sit and wait for everything to get better we will wait forever. Life happens with or without us. So we have to learn to be happy and live with what we have and make the best of it.

I love this saying. My Aunt used drugs for five years and she is six years sober and she got this saying tattooed on her arm with a beautiful butterfly next to it. She got the tattoo because she learned to be able to "dance in the rain" live without drugs and be happy without them even though the drugs will always be there she doesn't need them to live a happy life.

Wonderful story Cassandra. Thank you for sharing.

Cassandra, My Mom did just about the same thing for the longest time but now she is on top of the world it seems. Life is about adapting and learning. Staying inside "waiting for the storms to pass" will get you nowhere.

Life is full of problems. Throughout life, you will learn how to deal with these problems. However, if you choose to ignore a problem, you will never move forward.

Its not about playing it safe. We must all accept that the learning process is about getting a little wet and dirty to achieve something great.

Some of the people who respond to these blog post should learn to do this!

Yes! Taking advantage of gloomy situations is what we should all learn to do. Behind every bad situation is a good opportunity. The downfall of the economy could mean opportunity in fixing it.

I agree with this quote. People spend to much time worrying about bad times in their life. Enjoy every single day like if its your last!

I like this quote. One of my favorite teachers (Mr. Defazio who teaches psychology) talked about that once. Hes a great man. And its a good message. It seems like things work out better when you roll with them instead resisting or fighting. Like trees in the wind that "bend instead of breaking" (E. Holland).
