CNN statement:
“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
Sanchez did not host his show today. Brooke Baldwin stood in, though the show was still technically called "Rick's List." Moving forward, CNN will now run "CNN Newsroom" from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sanchez has been under fire since appearing Thursday on a satellite radio show hosted by Pete Dominick. Sanchez told Dominick that he believed Jon Stewart was a "bigot" -- and then went on to suggest that he believed CNN was run by Jews.

Looks like all the ribbing has finally gotten to Rick Sanchez - the CNNer lit into "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart on radio show "Stand Up!", calling Stewart "a bigot" and saying that he got picked on regularly because he was "the little Puerto Rican guy."
"Make fun of me, but I'm a complex human being!" Sanchez said. "I'm not a moron!"
When host Pete Dominick pointed out that Stewart also belonged to a minority group Sanchez was unimpressed.
"Yeah, a very powerless people," Sanchez said. "He's such a minority, I mean, please. Are you kidding?"
Dominick started to interrupt. "Are you telling me - "
"I'm telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart," Sanchez cut in, "and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority... yeah."
Sanchez continued to hold forth on the perceived power disparity between himself and Stewart. "These guys (at the Daily Show) are now more important than Walter Cronkite," he told Dominick. "It's like Walter Cronkite's out there cracking on people."
"Is that because you guys aren't doing your jobs well enough?" Domnick asked.
"Probably," Sanchez responded.
Comedy Central said neither it nor the Daily Show were commenting on the outburst. CNN did not immediately return calls for comment.
