Oh my gosh! I would be soooo uncomfortable if I was in this lecture! I actually feel bad for the proffesor, I can understand if it was just once that someone had just yawned and quietly done so, but to do it out loud and multiple times is really rude. I also wonder, are there usually cameras in lecture halls like this??

I'm assuming this is a morning class, but either way if there are 200+ people in the room I doubt its the SAME person yawning every day...no need to pick on one person..unless this is ONE person who has some uniquely recognizable chronic yawning syndrome haha

I think the professor handled the situation perfect. In a lecture with a class of 200 students, the professor points out exactly what I was thinking. Why is there one individual with a problem?

Jeff (Phoenix HUM/114) WOW! I agree with the fact of not being rude and not yawning to where it can be heard, but for the professor to go off like that shows an evil side to his temperament. If a yawn gets him this pissed off what happens at home when his wife yawns at him? Or his kids? I believe he could of handled it a bit more professionally and still got his point across.

Sure there was one LOSER with a problem and that was the professor. How dare he yell at his entire class over a yawn? If anybody deserves a time-out in the hall it's him. He is to lead by example, and granted it must have been annoying but he needs to lead by example ( quit being so boring) or offer up a quick 2 min break to strech ones legs and get some fresh air. What a jErK!!!

This guy is crazy. Even if somebody yawned, he could have acted a bit more mature about it.

Guys if you actually paid attention to the video the professor said that it was multiple times and over exaggerated. FROM ONE PERSON. That was rude whether one or multiple people. If it is loud enough that the professor notices it then all the people around you are being effected even more so. And anyone above that commented and said this guy was out of line, you obviously did not pay very much attention to what he was saying.

How can you teach young people how to act correctly when someone in charge reacts so childishly to something so miniscule.

I think this professor is disrespectful and a hypocrite. He can not yell at an entire class like that, over a yawn. Studies show that yawning comes from a shift in mood/emotion, not necessarily from being tired. That being said, maybe the lecture was making some type of impact (negative/positive) on the student. The volume of a yawn does not need to be extremely loud, so that is disrespectful. However, the professor is a hypocrite, talking about "respect" and he is yelling at a class, and practically harassing the students. These students paid money to attend these classes- he shoouldn't act so entitled. There are ways to address these issues and he should be able to do so, professionally (as he was certified to). I think he should have some type of counseling from his superior for this
